Why choose native plants? Native Plants Nursery

Native plants are hardy perennials which thrive under the weather, soil and general growing conditions found within the immediate environment of our gardens and farms. These are an important food source for bumblebees, smaller native bees, birds, other insects and fauna. Native plants...the sustainable garden choice.

Building Sustainable Plant Communities

Not far from Bangor, Maine we grow a wide variety of native plants for sale offsite at markets and other locations. Sustainably grown, locally sourced and hand tended native plants, shrubs and trees...and, yes, our plants have bugs (bees, butterflies and other wonderful beneficial native pollinators!)

Pollinators love native plants

This pollinator found something delicious at the Bas Rouge Farm & Forge booth at the Orono Farmers Market.

Perhaps you will find a native plant to feast your eyes upon and feed the pollinators!

Visit us at the Orono, Brewer & Bangor Farmers Markets beginning in late May/early June 2023.
